Wildlife Conservation
The Rancho Santa Anita, El Álamo, El Gargaliote and El Carrizo Game Reserves were created in the municipalities of Aldama, Coyame and San Buenaventura to promote the conservation of wildlife in its natural habitat and mitigate the negative effects of overexploitation.
These reserves are registered as wildlife conservation management units (UMA) and have reintroduction and repopulation programs for species such as bighorn sheep, pronghorn, elk, quail, mule deer, and white-tailed deer, creating an alternative for the development of nature tourism.
